"A Hero to Save Us All" is the tenth and final episode of the first season of The New Legends of Monkey and the tenth episode overall. This episode aired on 4 February 2018 and became available on Netflix on April 28, 2018.
Plot synopsis[]
As Davari's quest for immortality nears fruition, Tripitaka races to unlock a secret that could destroy the demon's hold on power.
Summary[]
Davari claims that the scroll belongs to him. Tripitaka kicks it under the door and flees in the opposite direction.
Silver and Oak help prepare for the banquet. They hide swords and daggers inside the same case as the music instruments.
Shamai and Lusio inform Monkey and Pigsy that demons from all over will attend the banquet. They’ll need a disguise to enter the banquet. There will be a play. Pigsy will be disguised as the Monkey King whilst Monkey will be a guard.
Sandy, disguised as a guard, asks Silver and Oak if they’ve seen any strangers hiding out. They claim they haven’t and spit at the ground.
Monkey wonders how they’ll get into the palace to rescue Tripitaka. They have no plan past the banquet. Pigsy tells him one step at a time. If they take down Davari, they can then take the palace. Monkey then reveals to Pigsy that Tripitaka is a girl. Despite being lied to, Pigsy still trusts and believes in Tripitaka.
Pigsy joins Shamai and Lusio on stage to perform in front of the demons. Pigsy is the Monkey King. Shamai is Master. Lusio is the narrator, Oak is Davari, and Monkey and Silver are guards.
Tripitaka finds Lior and the other gods in a cell. He tells her to leave them. She must stop Davari. They’ve given her the means of control. Lior insists that she has all the answers she needs.
Sandy crosses paths with the Shaman, who mistakes her for a guard. He questions who she is. Sandy replies that she’s "Sandborg. The guard."
Princess Locke arrives at the banquet. Pigsy watches as Locke flirts with the other demons.
Davari joins Princess Locke, the Shaman, and the other notable demons at the banquet. He welcomes them to the center of the universe. He explains that the only difference between gods and demons is that demons only get to live 600 years whilst gods are immortal. Davari has successfully translated the scroll for immortality. Monkey, Pigsy, Shamai, and Lusio prepare to attack, however, Davari is aware of their plans and orders his guards to take Silver and Oak captive.
Tripitaka hides inside a cell, where she finds Davari’s sentinel demons on standby. Sandy then joins her after taking out a guard. Rather than killing the demons, Tripitaka wants to wake them up. Tripitaka fails to awaken the sentinel demons. Sandy remarks that it’s a magic spell, which requires ingredients. Tripitaka recalls what Lior said about giving her the means of control, referring to the lock of god hair that she recovered. She throws it into the fire and awakens the Font Demon as well as the other sentinels.
Monkey, Pigsy, Shamai, and Lusio watch helplessly as Davari performs the spell to become immortal. Tripitaka and Sandy arrive at the banquet with Font Demon and a small army of sentinels. A battle ensues. Shamai and Lusio retreat with Silver and Oak whilst the gods battled demons. Davari and Shaman escape with the scroll. Meanwhile, Pigsy faces off with Locke. Pigsy questions how she got out the cart. She reveals that they drove her around for three days and left her in a ditch. And that’s where she stayed until one of Davari’s men found her. They proceed to fight, in which Pigsy dispatches of Locke. Sandy and Pigsy hold off the remaining demons whilst Monkey searches for Tripitaka and Davari.
Monkey finds Davari in his chamber performing the immortality spell. However, Shaman presents him with a choice: either he saves Tripitaka from going over the balcony or he stops Davari. Tripitaka encourages him to stop Davari. As he inches towards Davari, Shaman sends Tripitaka flying over the balcony, down to the abyss. Monkey jumps off the balcony after her.
Sandy and Pigsy find Davari just as he completes the spell; the first demon to achieve immortality. However, they’re more concerned with Monkey and Tripitaka who went falling into the abyss. Sandy and Pigsy look over the cliff, and to thire surprise, Monkey is riding his cloud with Tripitaka. Monkey goes towards Davari, but he is far too powerful. He incapacitates Monkey, as well as Sandy and Pigsy. Shaman then activates one of the suction devices that engulfed Tripitaka’s home. She grabs it and throws it at Davari. It latches onto his chest and imprisons him inside. He struggles to fight his way out, but instead goes flying off the balcony. Now that her secret is out, Monkey asks what they should call her. She replies "I’m Tripitaka."
