Biography[]
Season 1[]
Hope Must Never Die[]
Gaxin and two warriors arrive at the Scholar's home, to begin the quest to find the Monkey King. He spends time mediating before the Scholar shows him a map and the Monkey King's crown. He claims that Monkey King wasn't destroyed by the demons but was instead buried in stone in the very valley they are in now. Gaxin's mission is to help find Monkey and to release him with the help of the Monkey King's Crown. He is then supposed to help Monkey find the Sacred Scrolls and bring them to the Western Mountain, in order to defeat the demons that are plaguing the world.
Gaxin is given a new name by the Scholar, Tripitaka, supposedly a name known only by the Gods, when hearing it the Gods will know that he is the chosen one. However, before his mission can begin, the Font Demon strolls into the Scholar's home. He takes out the two warriors with ease. Gaxin attempts to fight the demon, but the demon begins to overpower him and demands to know where the crown is. The Font Demon then levitates and chokes Gaxin using his powers. Gaxin can't believe what is happening and tries to tell the demon the he is Tripitaka, but the Font Demon kills him while telling him that is no one.
The Edge of Nowhere[]
Tripitaka remembers the chant that Gaxin used when he was meditating and she uses it to activate Monkey's crown.
Season 2[]
The Real Tripitaka[]
Gaxin is resurrected by Monica and nursed to health. He meets with Tripitaka. He tells her that nothing is impossible despite seeing her die. Gaxin wants to take over the quest, and with Monkey, gather the remaining scrolls. Gaxin shows Tripitaka drawings of the guardians of the scrolls. Mycelia is among them. Tripitaka calls her a false guardian as Mycelia created a decoy scroll, which is corrupted. Gaxin takes the scrolls and insists that he can handle it.
Gaxin explains that he wants to stay and fight despite the rebellion lacking weapons and skills. He’s certain that with Monkey, Sandy, and Pigsy on their side, they will win.
Gaxin takes Monkey, Sandy, and Pigsy before the rebellion and prays for them to be led to victory. Monkey then begins training the rebels who have little to no fighting ability. Gaxin inquires about Sandy’s unique ability to affect water. Given that the human body is mostly made up of water, she is capable of doing great things. Gaxin asks that she close her eyes and tells her to picture flowing water and her instructing its actions. In following his instructions, Sandy causes all the rebels to cry.
Gaxin plans his attack with the rebels, but Tripitaka reveals that Gorm doesn’t have the scrolls and that he is, in fact, Hagfish’s servant. He controls Gorm like a doll, but Gaxin and Monica doubt that she’s correct. Tripitaka reminds Gaxin that they don’t have enough weapons to fight Gorm’s army, but Gaxin has used the Scroll of Creation to make weapons. Tripitaka warns him that the weapons will turn on them. However, both Monica and Gaxin remind her who the real Tripitaka is.
The Spider Web[]
Monica reveals that the Monkey King is nowhere to be found. While he may be devoted to Gaxin, he is obligated to Tripitaka. Gaxin is sure that Monkey will return before the battle commences. A wounded scout warns them that Gorm’s army has reached the pass of the Young Sun. Unfortunately, they have too many weak and old to run.
Gaxin finds Monica plotting their next move with the warriors. He scolds Monica as the rebellion is meant to be led by him, not her. Gaxin is certain that the Monkey King will return, but Monica lacks faith. She wants to ambush the demons with fire rather than waiting for Monkey’s return.
Gaxin leads Monica and the rebellion into war against Gorm’s army with the weapons crafted by the Scroll of Creation. They fire flaming arrows, which turn back on them. They then arm themselves with swords that force them to hit themselves, realizing then that Tripitaka was right about the corrupted scroll. Gorm and his army of demons arrive. Monica tells Gaxin to run while they hold off the attacking demons.
Shadow Boxing[]
Gaxin finds Monkey, Tripitaka, Sandy, and Pigsy in the woods. Admittedly, he ruined everything. They tell him that he can redeem himself by leading them to the Scroll of Creation. But they’re going to camp out in the woods for the night and make way for Burnt Sands at day break. Soon after the fall of Jade Mountain, a great tree sprouted. Gaxin suspects that’s where they’ll find the real Scroll of Creation. He even believes it to be the key to defeating Shadow Monkey. If they use the Scroll of Immortality and the Scroll of Creation in tandem, one could in theory raise the fallen gods. Tripitaka and Sandy are reluctant to raise a dead army. Gaxin apologizes for underestimating her and asks about their next move. Monkey explains that if they don’t kill Shadow Monkey, there will be no world left to save.
Gaxin, Monkey, Tripitaka, Sandy, and Pigsy travel to the Burnt Sands, where they are greeted by Mycelia, who is said to be the Guardian of the Scroll of Creation. She reveals the scroll is beneath the tree. Gaxin crawls inside but he can’t reach the scroll. Mycelia traps Gaxin inside and declares that the scroll belongs to her. If she hands over the scroll then she will perish. While Pigsy helps Gaxin, Monkey, Tripitaka, and Sandy fight off the fungal creatures. Eventually, Mycelia releases Gaxin, but he succumbs to his wounds. Tripitaka pleads with Mycelia to give her the Scroll of Creation. Mycelia does so and dies. With the scroll, Tripitaka wants to bring Monkey back, but Gaxin warns Tripitaka of the consequences of her actions. He tells her that the world needs her much more than it needs him. He then chants the ancient language before dying.
Powers and Skills[]
- Sutra: Gaxin has the ability to speak in an ancient language and activate Monkey's Crown. He can make Monkey's belly full and even scratch Monkey's back
- Body Manipulation: Using his Back Scratching Sutra and Full belly Sutra, Gaxin could manipulate and control Monkeys body.
