Lior is a minor character in the television series The New Legends of Monkey. He is portrayed by Samson Chan Boon.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Lior trained at Jade Mountain alongside Monkey before becoming a guard.
Season 1[]
The Breaking Ground[]
Lior has been captured by Raxion and the Shaman and placed in the Breaking Ground. He is recognized by Monkey. They trained together at Jade Mountain. Lior then tries to convince Monkey to play the game and translate the sacred scrolls.
Monica starts the next round. Monkey tells Lior that he needs his help in getting back to Jade Mountain. Lior is sorry for what happened to Monkey, who asks Lior how long he has been at the tavern. Before he can reply, Monica tells Monkey to start translating scrolls. Lior offers to show Monkey. Sandy tries to encourage Monkey to play as she doesn’t want to lose. Lior on the other hand, seems to be aware that they aren’t in the real world and tells Monkey that playing along is the only way to survive.
Lior is then taken out of the Breaking Ground and placed in a barrel on the road to Jade Mountain.
A Crown Does Not Make You King[]
500 years ago, Lior was a member of the guard for Jade Mountain. He tells Monkey to be on guard because the demons are watching and waiting for the right time to attack. Rather than watching the fortress, Monkey watches the show, allowing a demon ninja to sneak inside. He lunges at Master, but Monkey counters his attack and performs the Three Son combination. Lior questions how the demon got past the gate, which was undoubtedly Monkey’s fault.
Lior enters Master’s home to find him dead on the ground and Monkey escaping with the scrolls. Monkey is forced to flee on his cloud, forever looked at by his people as a traitor.
After Monkey was captured and imprisoned, Lior reported that they were under attack by the demons. And this was the beginning of dark times.
In Search of Tripitaka[]
Tripitaka is handed the last piece of the scroll to translate. Lior sits right behind her. He tells Tripitaka to never stop fighting. Tripitaka takes the scroll and locks the guards inside the hall, where Lior defends the door.
A Hero to Save Us All[]
Lior and the other gods are found in a cell by Tripitaka. He tells her to leave them. She must stop Davari. They’ve given her the means of control. Lior insists that she has all the answers she needs.
Season 2[]
Graveyard of the Gods[]
Lior escapes with the other gods from Jade Mountain after Davari's death. Monkey instructs Lior and the other gods to take refuge in Western Mountains.
