Master is a minor character in the television series The New Legends of Monkey. He is portrayed by Kirk Torrance.

Season 1[]
A Crown Does Not Make You King[]
500 years ago, Master tutors Monkey at Jade Mountain. Master tells Monkey that he must first learn the language of the gods before he can train. Monkey is unique, which is why they brought him to the temple. Monkey inquires about the crown that Master has on display. He explains that they keep it because it is a memory of the days before gods understood that they didn’t need a king.
Master performs the "Tall Son." One of his signature moves and the first of the "Three Son combination." He then performs the "Dizzy Son." And finally the "Angry Son." He instructs the warriors to replicate his actions and channel their power.
Monkey incompetence allows a demon ninja to sneak inside the palace. He lunges at Master, but Monkey counters his attack and performs the Three Son combination. Lior questions how the demon got past the gate, which was undoubtedly Monkey’s fault.
Master accuses Monkey of leaving his post and inviting danger into the palace. As head of the guard, it’s Monkey’s responsibility to protect the palace. Monkey would like to step down as head of the guard and become a master. A master must bring out the best in those that they teach, so Master tasks Monkey with bringing out the flower bloom of a bud. However, Monkey fails miserably. Monkey tries again, but the results are the same. Master blames himself for failing Monkey.
Monkey steals the crown from Master’s home. Master awakens and tells Monkey that a crown does not make a king. They all make mistakes, which can be mended. Master is then killed by an invisible demon. The demon ninja becomes visible and attacks Monkey, but flees after realizing he’s outmatched. Monkey checks on Master, who with his dying breath, tells Monkey that the demons are coming for the sacred scrolls. He tells Monkey to take the scrolls and hide them.
