Meera is a minor character in the television series The New Legends of Monkey. She is portrayed by Nicola Kawana.

A Part of You That's Missing[]
Meera claims to be Tripitaka's mother. Meera thought about coming back for Tripitaka many times, but she was certain that Tripitaka would have a better life with Scholar, which she did. Sandy wonders why Meera came back to the North Water. Meera claims after they fled the raids, their plan was to head to the Gandara Sea. But her mother became ill. She wanted to return to the place of her birth before she died. However, Sandy is skeptical, so Tripitaka recommends that she go look after the children.
Meera offers Tripitaka a chance to join them on their travels to the Gandara Sea, where they can hopefully build a home.
Sandy questions how Meera can afford such a place on her own. Meera claims that she fishes. However, Sandy knows that there aren’t any fishes in the river and questions if Ilbryn and Brylana are even truly her daughters. As Sandy continues to accuse Meera of being a liar, Tripitaka demands that she stop as she’s scaring the girls.
Meera meets with the Font Demon, who asks if Tripitaka will be joining her on the trip to the Gandara Sea. Meera reveals that Tripitaka will be coming along, but not Sandy.
Meera and Tripitaka head for the Gandara Sea. However, Meera has a change of heart; she reveals to Tripitaka that she’s not her mother and that the demons have arranged a trap for her. They threatened to take her girls if she didn’t play along. She warns Tripitaka to leave immediately, but the Font Demon is already approaching. Tripitaka agrees to leave with him peacefully. Before parting ways, she makes Meera promise that she’ll take Ilbryn and Brylana to the Gandara Sea. Lastly, Meera tells Tripitaka that her mother would’ve been proud of the woman she’s become, and she hopes her girls will grow up to be as strong. The Font Demon tosses Meera a bag of coins before leaving.
