Shamai is a minor character in the television series The New Legends of Monkey. He is portrayed by Cohen Holloway.

Season 1[]
In Search of Tripitaka[]
Shamai offers Monkey and Pigsy safe haven as they escape Davari's guards. He hides them in his shop. He introduces them to his partner, Lusio, and his sons, Silver and Oak. They’ve lived in Jade Mountain for generations. They’re the hidden resistance and have been waiting for the return of the Monkey King.
Shamai and Lusio discuss their next course of action and with Monkey and Pigsy, who reveal that Davari is holding a banquet for the most powerful demons in the land, and they’ve been hired as musicians for the event. Shamai recalls the Scholar mentioning a monk and wants to wait, but they reveal that she’s been captured.
A Hero to Save Us All[]
Shamai and Lusio inform Monkey and Pigsy that demons from all over will attend the banquet. They’ll need a disguise to enter the banquet. There will be a play. Pigsy will be disguised as the Monkey King whilst Monkey will be a guard.
The play commences. Pigsy is the Monkey King. Shamai is Master. Lusio is the narrator, Oak is Davari, and Monkey and Silver are guards. After the play, Davari comes out after successfully translating the scroll for immortality. Shamai, Lusio, Monkey, and Pigsy prepare to attack, however, Davari is aware of their plans and orders his guards to take Silver and Oak captive.
Tripitaka and Sandy arrive with the demons under their control. A battle ensues. Shamai and Lusio retreat with Silver and Oak whilst the gods battled demons.
